Creative and curious since a young
child, Janese has spent the majority of her life traveling the
world and creating art. Drawing, painting, art history and foreign
language preceded her passion for jewelry design.
Having both studied and taught in
Paris and Milan, Janese found the architecture, art, fashion,
cuisine and music of the two cultures both captivating and
inspirational.
While skiing in Colorado in 1997,
she discovered a beautiful and compelling stone which begged her
to create into a necklace. Enjoying the process more than the end
result led her to experiment with a plethora of stones, metals and
crystals, resulting in new and innovative creations of adornment.
Like the Arctic Fox, her totem
animal, which changes color and adapts to seasonal and
environmental shifts, Janese's designs continually evolve in
response to contemporary aesthetic desires as well as to her
internal artisic vision.
Janese currently resides in Lake
Tahoe, where she enjoys the snow as much as the sun.
